Youth Mission Trip

Youth Mission Trip

The 2020 Youth Mission Trip heads to Waverly, NY June 28-July 4, 2020.

To best offer a chance for our youth to practice serving others, we will once again be partnering with Group Mission Trips to head to Waverly, NY for a Group Workcamp. We will join a group of 400 people that will descend on Waverly and help in truly spectacular ways. We will repair homes, paint rooms, build decks, and more than anything share the incredible grace and love of Jesus with the Waverly community. This is sure to be a life changing experience for your child and we hope you consider joining us!

We only have 25 student spots for the trip!  To register and place your $100 deposit, Click Here

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost of the trip?

The trip costs $750 for all travel, lodging, and food, as well as all the materials and programming provided by Group. We will be hosting our annual fundraiser on March 21 that will help offset the cost of the trip. You must volunteer at the fundraiser to receive the cost offset.

Where will we be staying on the trip?

We usually stay in a local high school, using their classrooms as our lodging, The facility we are staying at does not have air conditioning so bring those fans! Group Mission Trip staff transforms the facility into a home away from home–there will be a separate boy’s hall and girl’s hall, a cafeteria for meals, adequate bathrooms and showers, and either a gym or auditorium for programs.

Participants need to bring twin-size air mattresses, pillows, sleeping bags or other bedding to sleep on classroom floors. Youth groups are assigned to sleeping rooms together, gender separate. Sleeping rooms may be shared with other youth groups, depending on the size of groups and the size of the room.

What will we be doing?

Your participants will provide home repairs at no cost for elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged people who need your help. Work crews typically serve the same resident for the entire trip, creating an environment where meaningful relationships develop.

Most projects are designed to be completed during the trip, allowing you to experience the satisfaction of a job well done. You’ll serve the needs of others through projects like interior and exterior painting, building or repairing porches and wheelchair ramps, building or repairing steps, weatherization and other home repairs.

I’ve never used a tool in my life – can I still go?

YES! While the jobs being worked on can involve carpentry and other skills, there are jobs for everyone! We will do a basic skills training before we leave for the trip, and you will receive plenty of on the job experience throughout the week. If you can move your arms, you are more than qualified to be part of the work crews!
