Sandy Recovery

The church continues its home-repair program to help both church members and people in the community recover from Superstorm Sandy. Other portions of the Sandy Recovery program have been completed.

  • Home Repair (ongoing):This program helps people repair storm damage to their homes. Since the storm, our work teams of 113 different people have worked on 37 different homes, helping the homeowners by sheetrocking; installing windows, trim and wood floors; painting; and planning and installing kitchen cabinets, countertops and sinks. We have found a particular need for installing kitchens, so this is our present focus. The “Wednesday Crew” has installed 20 kitchens, with more in the planning phase. This is a highly effective way to help people repair their homes while providing a sense of Christian caring. It is also an excellent way to meet other members of the church family. Join by contacting Ken Garrison at

Furniture Donations (completed) The church has completed its work in coordinating furniture donations.  Additional furniture donations should be channeled through the ReStore program of Habitat for Humanity by calling 732.728.0441.

Together we make a difference.
