Hello again,
Today we made our way from
Nuremberg
to the famous city of
Rothenburg.
The Germans call this town the German Disney Land. We shopped at
Käthe Wohlfahrt,
ate lunch at a wonderful little restaurant called the Red Hen, and saw
a Tennesee high school band perform in the town square. After our quick
visit we got back on our bus and headed to the small village of Bibersfeld
where we met Uli, the pastor of the Bibersfeld Church, and his family --
Gabi, Marlena, and Leo. The Ringers had a thorough practice, and the
seniors prepared for their last concert ever. After another homemade
German dinner, the Ringers performed an amazing concert. "The Barber of
Seville" was played the best it has ever been played. The audience was
stunned and overjoyed with the concert, and all the Germans came rushing
up afterwards to talk and laugh and try to ring the bells. Charles was
asked to play the organ before and after the concert and was recieved
with a standing ovation. We could not have asked for a better sending
off, and the seniors were thrilled with how their last concert went.
After the concert the group split up and we all headed "home" with our
host families. It was a truly great day.
All of our love,
Olivia (and Ringers)
