Gross Got!

Day four started out with a fun and educational three-hour bus tour of Berlin. Our guide, Nick, was from London, and he gave us a grand tour, British accent and all. We went by Checkpoint Charlie, passed all the museums and embassies, saw East and West Berlin, saw what was left of the Berlin Wall, and went to the university where Einstein taught for twelve years. We also got to see the Holocaust Memorial which was a powerful and abstract memorial that captured the heart of WWII in an astounding way. The ringers will have to explain when they get back!

The rest of the day was left to free time, and we all headed out in different directions. Some ended up back at Checkpoint Charlie, via Starbucks, others went off to cathedrals, while other made it to the zoo to see Knut, the famous Berlin polar bear. It was a very full day with lots of stories and yummy German food...including Spätzle.

Many of us also managed to find and play on 100ft teeter totters down the road from our hotel. It's the little things in life.

Everyone is doing well, and we are headed to bed to get some rest before we head to Potsdam, Wittenburg, and Prague tomorrow. All of us send our love and hope all is well back home.
