2004 Calvin & Chapel Ringers Handbell Tour California
Previous day Return to Tour Summary Next day
Hi Bell Parents & Friends,
We were very blessed last night with excellent home stays.
We met this morning at
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church
and took the bus to the
San Diego Zoo.
It is an outstanding zoo with attractions including a two-year-old
baby panda, a children’s zoo, a Skifari aerial tram, and a
guided bus tour to name a few. We had the choice to spend
the day in the zoo or also go to the adjacent
Balboa Park.
At 4:30, we boarded the bus and went to the
Chinese Evangelical Church
in
San Diego.
After setting up the bells, we were served a delicious
Chinese dinner prepared by the church members. The bell
ringers performed an excellent concert to a very appreciative
audience of 85. Katrina’s grandparents from Phoenix and her
aunt and cousin from Oceanside, California, were there. Also
Allison’s mother’s cousin and her husband, a pediatric
cardiologist from San Diego Children’s Hospital, were in
attendance. After the concert, we were off to our home
stays. It was another great day!
Tomorrow, the plan is to go to
SeaWorld,
with a concert at
Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church
in the evening.
More later,
George & Dawn
