Hi All,
We have had a long, but good day. We gathered at church this morning
at 5:45. After a short devotional led by Charles Harris, we were driven
to
Newark Liberty Airport,
thanks to several gracious bell parents.
At
Newark,
after going through security and check-in, we went to a Group room to
wait for our flight to Los Angeles. To our surprise, we were met by
Joe Cole who came up to Newark to see us off. Thanks, Joe!
About 8:20, we went our gate and boarded the plane. The plane was
ready to depart at 8:45 AM, but because of excessive air traffic
congestion, we did not actually take off until 10:00 AM. It was
a smooth flight. We were served breakfast and a snack later in
the flight. We reached LAX airport and landed about 12:45 PM PST
(or 3:45 NJ time). After locating all of our luggage and bell cases,
we met our bus driver, Jose, who drove us to our Day's Inn motel
on Mariposa Boulevard in
Los Angeles.
After getting settled in our rooms and relaxing a bit, we boarded
the bus and went to the Farmer's Market in Fairfax. The Farmer's
Market is an amazing place with dozens of specialty food places
and common stores in a very nice setting. After dinner and a
little shopping, we boarded the bus for a drive down
Rodeo Drive
in
Beverly Hills.
Then Jose drove us down
Hollywood Boulevard
and back to our motel.
It is now 9:00 PM here and time to "turn in" for a good night's
sleep. Tomorrow, we will spend the morning in
Universal Studios
and then head down to
San Clemente
for a concert tomorrow evening.
We are all doing well - just a little tired,
George & Dawn
