2002 Calvin & Chapel Ringers Handbell Tour Colorado and Wyoming
Previous day Return to Tour Summary Next day
Hi Handbell Parents,
We had a great 5th day.
We met at 7 AM at the
Arvada Methodist Church
for breakfast.
We then boarded the bus for a trip over the
continental divide
to
Grand Lake Lodge
on the edge of the
Rocky Mountain National Park.
We met Julie Ott, a former Chapel and Calvin handbell
ringer who works at the lodge for the summer. We took a short
tour of the quaint town of
Grand Lake
followed by lunch at the lodge. Then we went to
Adams Falls
for a short hike.
We then boarded the bus for a 2 hour trip to
Steamboat Springs,
CO. We spent a pleasurable hour in the hot springs and pools at
Steamboat Springs Health & Recreation. From there, we went to
the Concordia Lutheran Church to set up for our concert this
evening. We were served an absolutely outstanding dinner prepared
by members of the church. Then, the Calvin and Chapel ringers
performed to a very apprecative packed house. Then it was off to
our home stays. We experienced very gracious hosts and excellent
accomodations. Thank you Concordia Church members!
Tomorrow we will be up early again for our trip to Jackson,
Wyoming.
