2002 Calvin & Chapel Ringers Handbell Tour Colorado and Wyoming
Previous day Return to Tour Summary Next day
Hi Handbell Parents,
We had a somewhat more relaxed day today.
We met at the Mountain View Presbyterian Church at 7:30 for
breakfast. Then we hopped on the bus for our journey to
Denver.
Bus driver David Cooper let us off in the vicinity of the
Capitol Building,
the
US Mint,
and the mile-long 16th Street
Pedestrian Mall. On the way walking over to the
Mint,
we found out that it has been closed to the public since 9-11.
So we split up into groups of at least 4 to tour the 16th
Street Mall,
the
Capitol,
an art gallery and/or the
Colorado History Museum.
The temperature reached at least 95 degrees,
but we kept fairly cool in the places we visited. At 4:00,
we boarded to bus to go to the
Arvada United Methodist Church
to set up for our 7:30 concert. We were fed a wonderful dinner
by members of the church. The concert went well and was
enthusiastically received. Bravo handbell ringers!! After
the concert, we met our hosts for the evening and went to
their homes to get a good night sleep.
We will meet at the Arvada church at 7:00 in the morning for
breakfast and then journey to the
Grand Lake Lodge
to meet
Julie Ott for our tour of
Rocky Mountain National Park.
I'll fill you in on the details tomorrow.
