Hi Bell Parents,

It has been an interesting and challenging day.

After a prayer and send-off by John Musgrave, we were off to Newark airport. We met our group representative Lynn, who directed us to our group line. After checking our luggage and handbells, we went to a special group waiting room. About 8:45, Lynn led us down to our gate. Unfortunately, there was no crew for our flight. What happened is that there were thunderstorms last evening (Thursday) and the crew that was assigned to our flight didn't get in until around 3 AM. So, we ended up waiting 2+ hours to board our flight. We actually left around 11:50 and arrived in Denver 2 hours late at 1:30 PM. Of course on the plane, they weren't able to serve lunch -- so we had breakfast about 2:00 PM. We didn't arrive in Colorado Springs until 4:30. So, we weren't able to go to the Olympic Training Center. Instead, we ate lunch/dinner at Outback Steakhouse / TGI Fridays. Then, we went to a park for a symphony concert, but it was so windy that we cancelled. Everyone was tired and anxious to go to their home stays. Many thanks to the wonderful families of the First Congregational Church of Colorado Springs for their wonderful hospitality.

Tomorrow, we are off to white water rafting.
