2001 Calvin & Chapel Ringers Handbell Tour Switzerland
Next day Previous day Return to Tour Summary
Hi Bell Parents and Friends,
On Wednesday, we visited the city of Neuchatel. We started with a bell
concert at the school. We had perhaps 200 children and maybe 50 adults.
It was a very good concert which was gretly appreciated by the children
and adults. During the concert, the children sang "Happy Birthday" to
Katie Dennis, in French. After the concert, there was a lot of interaction
between the bell ringers and the students. Ken and Fabian Weible (Ken is
2nd cousin to Geoff) organized the concert and were our point of contact.
Afterwards, Ken gave us a walking tour of Neuchatel, including the Neuchatel
Canton Parliment House. Then Ken, Fabian, and their 2 beautiful daughters
Louise and Emily, guided the bus up a high hill (read mountain) to have
dinner at a unique 300 year-old resturant. It was quite an experience. On
the way up, we were stopped for a few minutes by a herd of cows blocking
the road-way. (Hopefully, you will soon get a picture of that on our
web page).
Today, we are in Geneva. We have had a bus tour of this beautiful city.
We have a concert at the church this evening. Tonight, we have home stays.
Then tomorrow, we are off to Zermatt and the Matterhorn.
That's all for now. I am going to try and send some pictures to Randy
for posting on the web page.
